Halloween Angel
Halloween. It’s the time of year for ghosts and goblins and ‘trick-or-treating.’ It’s also a holiday Misty despises. She would love to hide away in her pajamas until it’s over, but this year, she can’t. An eccentric boss, who insists all of his employees attend the company’s Halloween party, puts a wrench in these plans.
When Misty agrees to accompany her friend to the local Halloween store in search of an appropriate costume, she has no idea her life is about to change. With the help of a mysterious brown haired woman, she’s transformed into an angel. With her new look, Misty finds herself gradually sliding out of the lackadaisical rut she’s been in since college. But this isn’t all the mysterious woman has in store for our heroine. A little romance goes a long way towards changing Misty’s cynical view of this holiday.
Ms. Woods’ story about finding love in the least likely of places was a lot of fun to read. I actually read Halloween Angel a few days before my first visit to a Halloween shop and I honestly couldn’t keep myself from hunting for that mysterious little brown haired woman. I truly thought she had to be there somewhere.
This story would have read a lot smoother if the author had used a few more contractions. But over all it held my interest, was fun to read, and had a very satisfying ending. Halloween Angel was a refreshing step away from the typical scary Halloween tales. I would definitely read other stories written by Tricia Ann Woods.
