When Summer Donahue meets with Ben Martin about doing the taxes for her business, neither of them could possibly guess what kind of an adventure lay before them. Ben is almost stuffy, so conservative he is close to dull. Summer, on the other hand, is a real personality. Almost quirky, she seems to be the complete opposite of Ben. But when Ben finds that Summer’s been stolen from and is almost bankrupt, the pair team up to put her financial affairs to rights. They head to Mexico where the hot sun and sweet drinks make finding Summer’s ex a trip that mixes business with pleasure.

One Crazy Summer is a light-hearted romantic romp. It is fun and fast-paced. Summer is not the most multi-dimensional character around but she is amusing. It is interesting to watch how Ben loosens up in her company. The best part of this story is that it makes the reader care for the characters. I wanted Summer to put her life in order. I wanted her to exact revenge for the wrongs done her. Too, I wanted Summer and Ben to find happiness. Jenyfer Matthews’ description of the Mexican beach, with its wicker chairs and breathtaking views did sound like heaven on Earth. One Crazy Summer is highly entertaining, a great fast read for anytime you feel like being pulled into the summer fun!
