Beastly Intentions
She goes to him in the middle of the night to tell him a bedtime story. But she is not afraid, for she loves him more than her own life. He growls, wanting her to read and so she does about a poor yet beautiful girl named Melissa Turner who always has a smile on her face and loves her parents. But her family is poor, so she goes seeking employment as a maid to the Lord who resides in the big manor house.
The Lord hides in the darkness of his library as he looks over Melissa. He gives her a test to see if she will stay. He roughly orders her to undress in front of him. Even though Melissa is embarrassed, she will do what he says because she needs the money. Before this can go any further, he tells her to stop and to come back tomorrow as his new employee. Melissa is ecstatic, but troubled because of what her new master almost made her do and the fact that she never really saw what he looks like.
The Lord is Nathaniel James Belmont, the Earl of Jaspersham and he is a beast. During certain times of the month he transforms from a handsome man into a furry and ugly wolf type creature. He is all alone except for his manservant, Jeffrey and now the new maid who makes him smile. As Melissa is dusting in the library, he catches her as she is about to fall from the ladder. He is suddenly overcome with lust and without letting her see what he looks like, Nathaniel makes Melissa close her eyes and he has his way with her. But Melissa wants to know what her passionate Lord looks like. She disobeys and sees him in his beastly state. Now there is no turning back as he takes Melissa into his bedroom so he can keep her forever and not run away from him in fear.
As she continues to read the fairy tale to her master, Brenna wishes he would take her much like Nathaniel did with Melissa. Brenna is the ward of Garren, who took her in from the street when she was only a young child. Garren has the same affliction as does the character of Nathaniel in the story. But like Melissa, Brenna doesn’t care that her true love turns furry. She wants to be with him in every way, including in his bed. But Garren is against this because he feels he is a freak. As Brenna continues with the story of Nathaniel and Melissa’s romance, Garren comes to realize that maybe his affliction can be cured and that perhaps he and Brenna can share their love in the physical sense. Also, he waits anxiously to finish reading the story to see if the beast Nathaniel will have a happily ever after with his beauty Melissa.
This is one beauty and the beast story that is way beyond sexy! Wendy Stone takes an old fashioned fairy tale and makes it her own with very pleasing results. These two sets of characters wear their hearts on their sleeves for each other and are not afraid to show their feelings in the most elemental way. Whereas I was expecting Melissa to run away from her beast, especially after Nathaniel ravishes her, her reaction is very different. These two tear up the bed sheets in every sense, and I am not talking about Nathaniel’s claws either. Their lovemaking was steamy and a bit risqué, especially because Nathaniel is in his beastly form. Brenna and Garren’s story is more about acceptance and a love formed out of friendship and trust. But I did find both storylines to even each other out perfectly. Beastly Intentions has a touch of mystery, fantasy and most importantly an enduring love that was very enjoyable to read. Break out the fans, especially for those love scenes, because they are very creative and simply erotic in every way.
