Mischief Night

Annabelle Fortier has lusted after her boss, Lowell Smith, since she began working with him. Mr. Smith’s prim and proper attitude belies his true sensual nature. Lowell has noticed Annabelle and he wants to get to know her intimately, personally and above all, sexually.

When he is unable to attend a Halloween party hosted at a private and exclusive club of which he is a member, he invites Annabelle to go in his stead, indicating that he will show up later in the evening. Annabelle isn’t sure what to expect, but Lowell plans to make this a mischief night to remember.

Cris Anson’s Mischief Night is a Halloween themed quickie sure to send shivers of delight down your spine. Ms. Anson is skilled at writing likable characters that are both believable and memorable. Annabelle is an “every woman” heroine. She is intelligent and professionally successful but her personal life isn’t in order. Annabelle’s “McDreamy” happens to be her boss which could cause problems for her in her career. Despite all this, she doesn’t let her man get away when the opportunity presents itself, and I loved her character for taking the bull by the proverbial horns.

Speaking of the bull, Lowell Smith positively oozes sexuality. Annabelle’s introduction to BDSM under his masterful tutelage left me needing a cold shower. Though I am not always a fan of the genre, I do appreciate a touch of BDSM and this book gets it right. Readers wanting a bit of erotica to curl up with in celebration of Halloween would do well to read Mischief Night.
