Ask Adam

From the second that Adam Riley sees Lexi Tanner he is intrigued to the point that he knows that he can’t get to know her. She cares about people, and he can’t open himself up to anyone that can make him feel again. Ten years ago Adam lost something so precious to him that he lost the ability to experience pain or happiness. He knows that people talk about him being a cold man, but at this point in his life he doesn’t have a choice. He knows that if he gives into his desire to see Lexi, she can make the feelings come back. To give into that would be to lose the power that he has worked so hard to build for himself. Unfortunately, he doesn’t know Lexi very well, or how hard it is when you fall in love.

Social Worker, Lexi Tanner, is seeking donations to start up a program to help the siblings of children who have been diagnosed with cancer. She is needs to raise fifty thousand dollars to get it started, and the only person she knows who donates that kind of money is Adam Riley. She has an appointment to see him next week at his office, but he is staying at the same hotel that she is in now. She is determined to find him, and sell him on the idea. She has never actually seen Adam before, and has no idea that the sexy man that saved her from falling in the lobby is the man in question. When they run into each other in the elevator later that day, the attraction is too much. They give into it and spend the night together. Adam does know who Lexi is because he went to a fund raiser that she sponsored four months ago, and he is sure that she knows him. The shock on Lexi’s face when she sees Adam behind his desk is something that makes Ask Adam worth every penny you’ll pay for it.

I wanted to review this book because I thought that it was a hot book, and it was, but it was also so much more. Because Lexi is a Social Worker, it really struck me that Adam needed the psychological help that she could give him to help recover from the incident all of those years ago. It is one of the hottest books that I’ve ever read, but it had so much more to it than just heat, so I had to give it a Recommended Read. The sexual tension between Adam and Lexi is so thick from the second that they make their first connection that you can feel it. The characters are very well developed and some of their discussions are so intense that you can feel the pain coming from Adam. Great job Ms. Dee, I’ll be looking for more of your books!
