The idea of posing as a call girl for one night is intriguing and scary. Liana steps into the shoes of her roommate with equal measures of guts and vulnerability. Karen Erickson has kept Liana true to the story. A woman who’s never done anything like this before but is determined to have a go. The struggle to stay in character as a call girl is well written and I loved the sudden spots of vulnerability that kept popping up. Mark’s lack of knowledge with call girls brings another genuine dimension to the story. His naivety and uncertainty gives Liana courage to do what’s expected. The sex is hot as you would expect with a novel about a call girl. But the unexpected emotion that flows between the pair is a surprise and a bonus. Not being a long story Karen Erickson could easily have left out the deeper elements, but she’s done a great job with this story. Yours For The Taking is a good book to pick up when you’ve only got a little while to indulge yourself.
