Sly Spectral Trick by Jet Mykles is a follow up story to her book Faith and her series Heaven Sent.

Darien likes Halloween, especially the candy that goes along with it which he promises to share with his partner Chris. Chris and Darien have been through many things when they first were introduced by his band mate Hell. Darien is a member of a rock group Heaven Sent and everyone is now happily settled with the love of their lives. Darien arrives home to a surprise of his life. His very studious, lawyer partner is acting mysterious, drawing patterns on the windows with god knows what greenish brown solution, and acting very strange. Darien pushes Chris until he tells him that the symbols are to ward the house to protect him from the spirits. Darien doesn’t know what to believe and when he sees something inexplicable he starts to get freak out. What is happening? Are Darien and Chris in danger? What is going on?

Ms. Mykles has a unique story using the characters of Darien and Chris from her earlier story Faith. As long as Darien has known Chris he has been down-to-earth and practical to a fault. Now Chris is acting in a entirely different manor and Darien isn’t sure what to believe. The love that Chris and Darien feel for one another is evident to see even with all of the strange and unusual manner that Chris is behaving. The way that Chris set Darien up was very creative and as a reader I didn't have any more of a clue about what was going on than Darien. Chris proved to have more of a devious and playful manner than anyone ever thought. I loved how Chris showed Darien that he can be inventive in their relationship. Thanks go to Ms. Mykles very entertaining and fun edition to the Heaven Sent series.
