Ferals’ Legacy: Shadow and Betrayal

Dori is a lost soul, her planet was terrorized by war and she watched her family die, the worst though was that she was psychically connected to them at their deaths. It has taken Dori many years to trust her rescuers, the Hiroke; rescued at three, the Hiroke spent many long years earning her trust.

Because of her past tragedy Dori has refused to learn about her culture, the Hiroke have attempted to provide her the information she needs but when she begins her studies, her parents and siblings’ loss is current in her mind all over again. The one thing that brings her peace is singing the lullaby that was sung to her as an infant.

Merrick is a Zygan and feral born, he comes across the Hiroke compound after being injured by a cub with visions of grandeur. When Merrick comes upon the compound he witnesses Dori singing a lullaby in the rain. He decides immediately that she belongs to him.

Because Dori did not pursue her studies of her culture she is unable to help Merrick and must convince him to let the Hiroke heal him. This however, instigates additional risk to the Hiroke.

I loved this book by H.M. Harrison, the plot line was unique. His characters were very well fleshed out. Dori was determined to do what was right. Plus she had instinct pushing her forward. Merrick was a powerful alpha male and yet he was sympathetic to Dori’s past. I don’t want to give a spoiler. It was too good to blow it for the readers. I highly recommend checking out Ferals’ Legacy: Shadow and Betrayal I have got my binoculars out for H.M. Harrison because I definitely don’t want to miss any future books.
