What do you get when you cross DJ Harding, ranch owner, and Terri Gates, ranch hand? An intriguing mix of a man who loves to spank a woman when she needs it, and even when she doesn’t and a woman who loves to be spanked. That was one of the appeals that drew Terri to the Triple-Bar Ranch, the other was she needed a job and a place to board her horse Riley. DJ wasn’t so sure he should hire a female ranch hand, especially one he wanted to spank right off the bat, but he was in a bind when two of his hands had up and quit on him. The Triple-Bar was a dude ranch that catered to the rich and they had been complaining that things had been taking too long, so DJ goes ahead and hires Terri and the sparks fly right from the get go. Terri wasn’t expecting to have her wish come true so soon after hiring on, but when she’s caught bringing in Riley without asking, DJ gives her them exactly what they both wanted, her backside turning red. Will things get out of hand before they find the love that will have Terri’s behind red for a lifetime?

Ms. Abalard gives the readers a spanking story that has more substance than just the heat between these two characters. She shows how these two also share in the love and caring that they have for the horses. With the secondary characters that help round out the story to make readers want to know more about them also. With her eleven years of writing spanking stories she’s shown she knows what the readers want and just how to deliver them. Even though this is a spanking story, it is more sensual than erotic. The characters and storyline are well developed and are the main focus. It reminds me of the John Wayne, Maureen O’Hara movies where the heroine does things just to push the hero into those spankings and knowing she loves them just as much as he loves giving them to her.
