Love’s Strategy
Note: Love’s Strategy by Samantha Kane is an historical m/m/f ménage love story and the third book in the Brothers in Arms series.
Valentine and Kurt have been together as lovers for long enough to know that they want something more – well, at least Valentine does. Valentine has dreams of a country life with Kurt and a passel of children but for that to happen they need to find a woman that does not object to their relationship and is willing to be on the outside of the relationship Valentine and Kurt share. However, when Valentine and Kurt meet Leah everything changes – but will it be for the best or will Valentine’s marriage to Leah destroy his relationship with Kurt?
Leah is at the end of her rope with her late husband’s creditors arriving at her doorstep and her not having the means to pay them. Surprisingly, this is not her biggest problem – her brother in law wants her to marry him and he is willing to use any means available to force her to the altar. To her surprise rescue comes from an unlikely source – her new neighbors. When Valentine and Kurt come to her and propose a three way marriage the benefits outweigh the costs. But will she be able to make a place for herself in their relationship?
Love’s Strategy is an emotional and hot m/m/f manage love story that will have you sweating from the very first words. Valentine and Kurt are wonderful men that are passionate about each other while expressing their emotions clearly. These two on their own are enough to set the pages on fire but when you add the wonderfully spicy dialogue they will leave you with burn marks. Leah is a strong woman that is trying hard to make things right for her children and she proves to be surprisingly open minded and practical about life. When these three come together it will knock your socks off and leave you wanting for more. Samantha Kane does a very good job of building a credible relationship between Valentine, Kurt and Leah. However, the plot is a little melodramatic with the evil brother in law and his threats of ruin. I also found the involvement of minor children in this clearly unconventional and highly sexual relationship somewhat unsettling. That said, Love’s Strategy is a very entertaining erotic read where the possibilities of a true m/m/f ménage are explored.
