Over The Edge

Lisa wakes to dreams that still cling to her mind. They were dreams that brought back a memory of one fantastic night she shared with two gorgeous men. That one night with Leo and Brett had been its absolute best. Of course that was years ago, and now Leo has returned. As owner and manager of On The Edge, Brett Andrews hires Leo to work behind the counter as the bartender. This pleases Lisa. She had continued to tell Brett he needed to hire a vamp to work behind the bar, stating a vamp was the only person who could serve blood correctly. Now that he had a job, Leo needed a place to live. Since it was Brett’s apartment, Lisa couldn’t invite Leo to move in with them. She knew after that one night they shared, Brett would be jealous. When Brett first saw Lisa, it was his lucky day, and he was certain she was the reason he was successful. A strong-headed vampire, Lisa, was even nice enough to help finance the club. If she didn’t enjoy being a customer more than an owner, she might have already had her own club. Things heat up when two detectives come into the club investigating a murder. Brett runs a safe club and knows that no one there was involved with any murder. If the killer has a link with the club, the detectives want the killer caught; if no link with the club, then the club will be clear of any suspicions. When Lisa is considered a possible suspect, things take on a different turn for the threesome, especially when Brett feels that he may lose her to Leo.

Emotions run high in Over The Edge. The relationship between Lisa, Brett and Leo is not only highly charged, but keeps the reader intrigued. The suspense builds further when the detectives enter searching for a killer; something I thought deepened the story. Both Brett and Lisa have a good many things in common, but Leo is often shown to be a little less trusting. Kallysten has a remarkable way of interweaving the characters in this romance. Sometimes a bit dark, and stimulating erotic, she creates a trio that bond in their own special way. I liked the independency she gives Lisa, as she tries to understand her feelings with Brett and Leo. This tale, from start to finish, promises to delight in many ways. This reader found it a most satisfying read.
