Song of a Druid Princess
Song of a Druid Princess is the third book in the Garland of Druids series. This story needs no prior explanation and can be read as a stand alone book.
In1919, Kate Dellafield is accepted at the Conservatoire de Paris. She is thrilled. She loves playing the violin and Maestro Gabriel Jourdain, her composition teacher, is known worldwide. Kate looks forward to working with him but he seems determined to push her from his class. First with sarcasm, then by ignoring her, Jourdain shows the Druid that he is immune to her charms. But he isn’t, not really. When Gabriel saves her, then makes love to her, their relationship changes. Love changes the Maestro but Kate wonders if his feelings for her and their future will stay the same once he meets her twin sister and her prominent family. Too, her pride has kept her from telling all and she wonders if that omission will jeopardize their future.
Jean Hart Stewart has written an interesting story about two rather public people who each have things they keep hidden from the world. Kate’s family is in the public eye, but she is a private person. Gabe, although he’s a widely acclaimed war hero and concert pianist, keeps his own secrets. This story is mainly about trust, and the way Kate and Gabe work together on her music brings them close enough to begin to trust each other. While the rocky beginning to their relationship set me back at first I enjoyed watching these characters work their way around their issues to find love. Kate’s connection with her sister, and their conversations in their minds, was one of the things I enjoyed most about this story. I liked it that Kate’s family was important to her. She was more than a woman looking for love. Her connections to real life were evident by the way she dealt with her sister and grandmother. Song of a Druid Princess is a book worth checking out!
