Pregnancy Plan

After the death of her father, Gillian starts thinking about her future. She wants a child. Without a husband or even the glimmer of one on the horizon, she comes up with the ‘pregnancy plan’. Only she’s confided in the wrong man and after leaving a message for him, his brother Derek, who also happens to be her ex, gets the wrong idea and sets out to stop her from messing up his brother’s life.

Derek gets more than he bargains for when he storms into Gillian’s hotel room. Not only is the situation not what he thought, the attraction he felt for her a year ago hasn’t gone away. After listening to what Gillian wants, he offers to give it to her. With the weekend almost over Derek wants their bargain to be more. Gillian doesn’t but before they can sort it out Derek is called back to work in the Middle East. Walking out he leaves her, if she won’t marry him now he’ll get her to marry him when he gets back.

When an accident robs Derek of his memory and he begins to ask for his wife, Gillian is faced with having to lie. She loves Derek too much to risk his health by denying the one thing he does remember. But what will happen when he finds out she’s lied to him? Will she be able to convince him she did it for love?

Pregnancy Plan is a great read. The chemistry between Gillian and Derek is there from the minute they’re in the same room and the level of intimacy grows with every second they spend together. I loved the way they try to keep things to what they’d planned. Tina Gayle has a way with words that brings the emotions Gillian feels about lying to the top of the page. She also does a great job of bringing Derek to life. With the accident making him more closed off then normal, the emotional push and pull that Gillian goes through in her attempt to get to him on a deeper level is fabulous to watch and feel. Tina Gayle does well to keep the black cloud of Gillian’s lie and Derek’s memory loss hovering above them. Her words bring Derek to life, keeping him the emotionally contained man he is can often be hard to do but Tina Gayle does it brilliantly. Pregnancy Plan is not only a book I enjoyed but I couldn’t put it down. I wanted to know when the lie would blow up in their faces and what would happen when it did. I loved this book and I’m looking forward to seeing what Tina Gayle comes up with next.
