Force of Nature

Markey has spent all of her adult life running from place to place in hopes of finding a home where she can live beyond the prying eyes of those who fear her “curse”. Her ability to manipulate the winds of nature has caused pain in her life from being labeled a freak of nature to it’s hindrance to establishing relationships. As long as she can stay to herself and control her anger, she should be able to find some semblance of peace. Fates however seem to be against her, and Markey finds herself once again losing control when faced with overwhelming anger. The difference this time is someone is there to help her control it. A guardian angel, by the name of Trip, a drifter who happens to be in the right place at the right time, gives Markey her first real taste of acceptance. Better yet, he knows someone who might be able to finally help her learn how to control her powers; Markey hopes her trust in Trip doesn’t come back to haunt her because for the first time in her life she’s finally beginning to hope there is more to life than the bleak existence she’s experienced so far.

I’m so excited I can hardly sit still as I write this review. It’s a rare thing to find an author who can really sweep you away with a story, pulling you in with every word, every expressed emotion. Robin Leigh Miller has done this not once but twice. Force of Nature is the second story I’ve read from this freshman author and has solidified my obsession with anything she creates. Markey and Trip’s story captures the taste of innocence, the pain of adversity and the rawness of organic love in its truest form. Their journey of discovery is filled with chilling episodes that showcase the depravity of man but also illustrates no matter how much life slams us with one disaster after another somewhere in there is hope and as long as we hold we will eventually find we’ve not suffered in vain. I can’t recommend this story enough for those who enjoy a well thought out tale that is written in a way that stimulates your imagination but also captures your soul. I hope this is only the beginning for Ms. Miller because she is definitely a force to be reckoned with in the paranormal genre.
