When Samantha Carstairs is informed that the pack is going to further Human-Other relations by allowing an army officer to try and recruit some of the pack members, she’s suspicious but will, of course, listen to her Alpha, but now that she’s found out who the officer is going to be, she has a totally different reaction. As the woman who guards the Alpha’s lair from the desk in the outer office, being forced into close quarters with Noah Baker may very well be the one thing that she cannot handle.

Noah Baker is truly not a happy man. He has a strong sense of honor and is trapped between concern for his country and loyalty for the people who took in his sister and helped her when she needed it. When he’s faced with the one temptation he cannot resist, he’s pulled in yet another direction. Can he hold it all together and get out of this situation without either losing his heart or his life?

A dangerous plot is afoot and the very balance that The Others are approaching with humans is at risk, not to mention their lives. These two hard-headed people are all that stand between a megalomaniac and his desire to create super troopers.

Christine Warren has taken the world of The Others to another level with Howl at the Moon. While the struggle has always been The Others vs societal acceptance we are given a look into what happens when evil, human, yet still evil, is given power and what The Others will do to survive. I was enthralled by the fluid dialogue and descriptions that I have come to expect from Ms. Warren. I am definitely a fan and will continue to haunt the internet and the bookstores for more from this talented lady.
