Any ordinary Day by Laura Bacchi is a homoerotic paranormal story.

It just isn’t Paul’s day. His life seems to go from one disaster to another. The only thing that Paul ever really wanted, someone to love and to love him, seems just beyond his grasp. The death of his car on the way to work appears to be a bad omen to start the day off. But, things can change on a dime and Paul’s luck may finally be changing. A very handsome man, Darrien, offers Paul a ride, Paul is more than willing to give him anything that he could ever want. Darrien invites Paul to dinner, but Paul hopes for much more than just food! Darrien thinks that Paul is the one he has been looking for, but what will Paul think and how will he respond when he tells him his secret? What is Darrien’s secret and will their budding feelings for one-an-other be strong enough to weather the difficulties that lie before them?

Ms. Bacchi has taken tales of old and recreated them in a fascinating manner that brings to life magical creatures for the reader's enjoyment. The characters are written in such a vivid manner that they come to life in bold and colorful actions. The fight between Darrien, his friend and the creatures they were fighting is very descriptive and captivating. Darrien and Paul’s love is quickly forged and tested in a way that most people never have to face. This is the first of Ms. Bacchi’s that I have read and it won’t be the last. Thanks go to Ms. Bacchi for an interesting read.
