Bloodhunter
Dana Mallon is at a wildlife preserve in the African desert. She is there to take pictures along with helping to spread the word on saving the endangered jaguars. Dana gets a spooky feeling she’s being watched. She feels drawn to the sensual spell she gets from the stare. As Dana walks toward the perimeter fence around the preserve, there she spots a huge black jaguar staring back at her. Dana can’t help it but get turned on by it. There is more to the jaguar. Dana sees both jaguar and man combined. A man who is tall, dark, eyes like midnight lighting, strong powerful shoulders and black hair.
Rose More, assistant director at the preserve, tells Dana it’s currently breeding season. The jaguar she saw is called Aztec. Unfortunately, he won’t be mating this season as he has no mate. While looking over the pictures Dana took of the jaguar on her laptop, one of the pictures of the jaguar has changed to a man. She starts carrying on a conversation with the man but how is this possible as he doesn’t exist, or does he? Nacon, the male form of the jaguar, appears in front of Dana. He tells Dana that he is from an ancient world of the Aztecs. Nacon is an Aztec warrior and a member of the Jaguar Society. Dana and Nacon share the same tattoo in the same location on their bodies. What could this mean?
The spontaneous chemistry between Dana and Nacon was unbelievably scorching. I was fond of the paranormal element that Nacon and the jaguar shared. The connection between the two characters was so amazing. I have read several books where one of the characters actually is stronger than the other one but that was not the case in Bloodhunter. Both Dana and Nacon could hold their own. From the first page till the last I was hooked on Bloodhunter. I read this book in one sitting. This is the first time I have read a Vonna Harper novel but it sure won’t be the last. Bloodhunter is definitely a recommended read.
