Erotic Obsession
Jay Drennan has moved to Fenner Island. He purchased a cottage that is almost one hundred years old and rumored to be haunted. Gladys Ross is his housekeeper and lover. While cleaning up his house he finds an old photograph on woman who is posed in a suggestive position. The back of the photo has a name, Emma Sloane and a date 1892. Jay can’t stop dreaming about Emma. He wishes that he could have been her lover.
Jay wonders if there might be more photographs where he found the first one. So he searches and finds two more photographs in addition to a diary written by Emma. Jay can’t stand it any longer so he calls Never on Monday, an escort agency. Lydia Blount arranges to have Jay meet his Emma. Jay and Emma play out all her exploits.
Gladys is worried for Jay. He has stopped having sex with her plus his obsession with Emma. Jay need to know what happened to Emma. He goes to the local library; there he is told that Bridget Musgrove the local historian would know what happened to Emma. Jay can’t believe the resemblance Bridget has to Emma. Bridget reveals that Emma was her great, great-grandmother.
I was captivated from the very first page to the last page. Iona Blair’s a storyteller of great magnitude. Jay’s strong fascination to Emma was very mesmerizing. Especially taking into consideration that Emma lived way back in 1892 and Jay was living in the present. Erotic Obsession is the appropriate title for this book. The finale was a little weak but still good quality. This is the first time I have read anything by this author but it won’t be the last. Be warned though as Erotic Obsession’s extremely scorching and red-hot.
