I’m Okay, You’re a Fake

Deanna Oscar is back once more. She and her friends have survived Katrina and are ready to have everything back to normal again. Her next door neighbors, friends, and ghosts throw De a surprise birthday party. To De’s absolute astonishment her family shows up in New Orleans to help celebrate. Unfortunately things can never be normal when you reside in a mansion where ghosts inhabit it or when your psychic abilities get in the way. The Weathers, De’s next door neighbors consist of Mary Lou, who is a southern belle and married to Lance, next is John Weathers, the youngest brother and a judge, Matt’s the oldest brother, who is a police detective also who De worked with on her first case with the police. Also there is Ivy Delacroix, a drag queen, furthermore De’s caretaker in addition to Ivy’s cousin Greg, the ex-priest.

This time De lends a hand tracking down a murderer, deals with a fake psychic, nosy reporter as well as having to deal with her family. Muriel Jennings claims she is the real deal psychic but De does not believe her. She’s also the leader of the Truth Seeker, a group of people that have formed a cult. Nemo Mandes owner of the drag club has been murdered. He was found with a snake bite. Joan Jennings, daughter to Muriel states that her mother is unstable, not a real psychic as well as says her mother believes her unborn baby is evil. De figures out that one of the healing aspects that the Truth Seekers use is snake venom. Will Dee be able to stay alive or will she become a ghost on the other side?

I get enjoyment from reading about all the fun, mayhem, antics, and adventures Dee and her friends have. This is the second book that involves Deanna Oscar and The Third Eye metaphysical shop. Cheryl Dragon writes a lot of erotic novels which are great, but so are these books from the I’m Okay series which include I’m Okay, You’re Dead and I’m Okay, You’re a Fake. Ivy is such a wonderful friend to have. All ladies need at least one gay guy friend in their lives. Cheryl Dragon’s description and personalities of her characters were excellent. I loved reading how De dealt with her family plus another psychic. I recommend this book and look forward to many more amazing stories from Cheryl Dragon.
