MerLion’s Pleasure

Teresa Lorence’s heading to Greece to work on her thesis on maritime history. A group of researchers and archeologists are re-creating an authentic pirate vessel. Their objective is to navigate it around the Mediterranean. Before Teresa leaves her dad presents her with a necklace that was once her mother’s. It is a necklace of an old skeleton key. Once on the plane Teresa is handed a letter that mentions she holds the power of discovery in her hands in addition to a map of the 17th century. The letter is signed MM.

Teresa starts having dreams and memories of Electra Anetakis known as the Red Queen, captain of the Water Dragon and Marik Mallory, captain of the MerLion. They were lovers. The ship sunk back in the 17th century. Legend has it that the MerLion sails the Mediterranean shores. Marik waits for his love to come and unlock his heart, so he can love again. At night Marik turns into human form.

Diane Taylor is a great writer. I enjoyed MerLion’s Pleasure. It was a good read. A pirate that is both sexy and great lover is an A + in my book. The connection between Teresa and Marik that existed was unbelievable. MerLion’s Pleasure makes me want to go to Greece and find my own captain to set sail with forever. Ms. Taylor’s writing style was so fluent and realistic that I could almost feel the rocking of the vessel and the salt from the water hitting my face. Check out this book for yourself to read what I am talking about.
