After being hit with lightning he’s found himself in a mental hospital telling anyone who’ll listen he’s a coyote not a man. Of course he can only follow his instincts and try to hump every girl in sight, so they give him the name Randy. No one is taking his story seriously. That is, until Sky comes to the hospital and talks to him. Randy wants her, only he isn’t sure that she wont make fun of him like the other nurses do. Can he trust her to not only believe he’s a coyote, but to help him get back to his hills so he can shape shift back into his coyote form?

Sky knows there’s something special about Randy. She feels it. After hearing his story she knows she has to help him. There are a few stumbling blocks in their way like how to get the doctor in charge to let Randy have a few hours outside of the hospital and if that happens, how to get him back to his hills. Sky and Randy’s feelings toward each other grow until neither knows if they really are working on their original goal.

Ms. Chase has written a story that will make the reader laugh at the antics of Randy and the need to get the ice out with the heat between him and Sky. This is a point of view that the reader rarely gets, the hero’s, which I think is great. I loved the scene where Randy’s telling a nurse how he’d ended up at the hospital and thinks he’s done a great job in the telling. Only, he ends up in the rubber room for his antics. Ms. Chase’s characters and scenes are so fleshed out that there are no glitches going from one scene to the next. Being Randy was not only entertaining to read but hot as well.
