From The Shadows
Kelly Wood, KC, had tried to lead a tranquil life for the past fifteen years. She put her former life behind her to raise her children and forget all about the agency; the agency that turned her into an efficient killing machine and paid her to get rid of scum. Then out of nowhere, her ex-partner, Janko informs her he has her children, and she has one more job to finish if she wishes to have them back. Steven Janko keeps a keen sharp look on everything, but he makes sure to stay out of sight for no one to see. He hates that he and KC were ever parted but still wonders what would have happened had they stayed together. It was a mission that not only went sour, but caused him to lose her love and trust for him. After Janko uncovers someone is out to get rid of KC and her children, he goes into action to make sure no harm comes to them. KC cannot believe that Janko has taken her children. She will do anything to get them back and once the mission is over, she will be sure to take care of him. Her thoughts are with her children, but once she is back with Janko, old feelings surface for the both of them. No matter what obstacles they had in their past is their newfound love enough to conquer the past and bring them back together when a madman is still lurking for the opportunity to take KC down?
From the Shadows is an electrifying read from the get-go. The adrenalin rush is on high as the reader sits on the edge-of-their-seat wondering if KC will ever see her children again. The love and devotion she shows for her children really shine in this story. I love the strength of KC and Janko. Even through betrayal and mistrust, the two search their hearts to overcome a tragedy of misguidance from the past. They are very believable players from the first page to the last. Margaret Reid pens a magnificent story. I love KC and Janko, as well as the children, who bring good fusion into the storyline. With strong characters, excellent dialogue and robust action, this story doesn’t miss a beat. This is one unforgettable story I will not forget.
