Last Wolf Watching
Michaela Doucet is a beautiful Cajun woman that believes in the supernatural. She has inherited the art of being able to read people from her grandmother and owns a store that caters to the need of people who believe in the supernatural. Her best friend meets her life mate and Michaela realizes that werewolves are not something that is made up; they are very, very real. When Michaela’s brother, Max, is attacked by a werewolf she must go to the pack and see if he will live through his first change. Some of the pack members are very rude to Max and she finds herself defending him to the point that Brody Carter pulls her into his arms and covering her mouth with his hand in order to shut her up. From that point Brody decides that he will look after her to make sure that nothing happens to her until after Max’s training is over.
The time that Michaela and Brody spend together will not be an easy time. There are murders going on in the pack and nobody can determine who is doing them. Worse yet is that no one can smell the murderer and that really has the Runners baffled as to who to look for. One thing that Brody is sure of is that someone has threatened Michaela’s life and as long as he lives he will make sure that no one will harm her.
Rhyannon Byrd did a superb job of wrapping up the Blood Runners trilogy with Last Wolf Watching. This author shows her versatility as a fantastic writer by making this book different than the other two books. This book lacks the humor that was in full force in the previous books, yet it still draws you into the story and makes you want to determine who is behind the killing that is going on in the Silvercrest pack. This book wraps around the romance between Michaela and Brody but it also spends more time on the mystery of who is doing the killing among the werewolves. There are several people that it could be but the real culprit will surprise you and you can find out for yourself in May when Last Wolf Watching hits the stands.
