Miss Fix It

Virginia Pembrook was ten years old and met Caleb Jasper for the first time when she was visiting her cousin in Oregon and she fell instantly in love with him. She knew from that first moment that they would marry and have a wonderful life together. Even though they only see each other when Ginny visits her cousin she and Caleb grow close and even though Ginny lived in Chicago, she and Caleb kept in touch by writing to each other and told each other all of their hopes and dreams. They were very careful in not saying that they loved each other but the sentiment was there for both of them. When Ginny goes to see her cousin this time she is amazed to find that Caleb has changed dramatically. He lived to preach and he wanted to be an itinerant preacher. Unfortunately, his father had an accident and he is now crippled and Caleb has decided that it is his responsibility to take over the ranching. This is not what Caleb wants to do and Ginny knows it’s not what God wants him to do. Will Ginny be able to convince Caleb that he needs to listen to God’s voice and let his brother run the ranch, or will she lose the man of her dreams knowing that they have both lost the loves of their lives?

I was drawn to this book to see if the woman that normally can set us on fire with her erotic stories, Lucy Monroe, could inspire us to do all that a Christian woman would in the historical story that she and Ms. Derens bring us in this book. There were so many things that I loved about this book and the first one was the sweet romance between Virginia and Caleb. It’s a perfect romance for a girl no matter her age, and the story is so inspiring that I will be reading more novels by both of these authors. A thing that will stick with me about this book is the fact that Virginia placed all of her trust and faith in God knowing that he would take care of her and that he would help Caleb to do the right thing in his walk in the world. This is a book that can be read by a person of any age and they will enjoy the book and get a great lesson from it also. This book reminds us that we all need to place our trust in a higher being and these two authors did a fantastic job of creating the perfect story that shows that.
