Claiming Their Mate

Jules Kingston knows her destiny lies in being the next Lioness of the White Sands Pride. While she would never abandon her role with the pride or try to side step her responsibility, she does want time to explore the world and enjoy life. Unfortunately Jules’s fathers have put out a call for a pair of lions to mate with their daughter, and Jules’s dreams of freedom have just been leashed.

Jules has an easy time of evading the enviable until she discovers that Gabriel and Lucas Beckett have already been accepted by her parents as her mates. Feeling betrayed and hurt only intensifies when the two brothers take Jules home with one sole purpose: to claim their mate.

While reading Claiming Their Mate I found myself running through a gambit of emotions. I could understand Jules’s feelings of hurt and betrayal, not by just the men that were chosen for her, but by her parents’ role in the claiming. I wasn’t sure if they were the overbearing men she fathomed them to be, and was pleased to see they were both loving, gentle men. Gabe and Luke knew that Jules had every right to bear those feelings and knew they had to find a way to make things right. One powerful Alpha in the bed is one thing, but two was definitely twice the delight. Paige McKellan has created a wonderful story filled with sexual tension and plenty of shifting. I enjoyed the scene where the brothers had to battle for what was rightfully theirs. If you love novels about shapeshifters you will find Claiming Their Mate to be a charming treat.
