Love and Lights

When Victor Cantrell joined the NYPD S.W.A.T. team, he gained a career he enjoyed but relinquished the woman he loved. Three years later he is still regretting that decision and wants to reunite with the keeper of his heart. Rachel Hinds wasn’t given an option on that Christmas Eve day. Victor walked away leaving her with a broken heart to mend. Now, thanks to a bit of intervention, she is back in New York and has to face the love of her life.

Dahlia Rose crafts a wonderful tale about second chances. By placing the story in New York, she was able to fashion the ideal backdrop for Love and Lights. The characters have a real appeal and are wonderfully believable. From the handsome and bit controlling Victor, to the potty mouth Rachel, each brings a bit of charm and creates a perfect balance of laughter and mayhem. I have to admit seeing Rachel stick to her convictions made me whoop a bit. Sometimes a bit of chase should be required to gain the prize. And Victor’s decision to do what was necessary to prove his love was sweet and heartwarming. The couple had sparks flying in and outside of the bedroom. And while the fervor was spicy, it didn’t cloud over the messages delivered by this story. If you enjoy romance with a Christmas theme you will appreciate Love and Lights.
