ReneCade

Cade McKenna is a deputy in Quinten, Montana who does his job well but doesn’t socialize with the residents. He moved to Quinten hoping to relieve the ache caused by his past, and has learned to live with the physical and mental scars that serve as his daily reminders of a time when he embraced his true nature.

Ren Boone loves his job on Hawkins’ Ranch and is well liked by all. While his work comes easy, coming to terms with the fact that he has no future with his best friend, and coming clean and telling his father, the sheriff, he is gay, is not.

Ren’s ecological project has become the target of vandalism and the sheriff has assigned Cade to the case. While Cade finds few leads to the identity of the culprit, he has made one important discovery: his attraction to the sheriff’s son.

ReneCade is associated with Demon Moon and Falling, but can be read as a standalone novel.

ReneCade is a story about love, forgiveness and trust. Cameron Dane has created strong believable characters that have both internal and external troubles to overcome. Ren has a wonderful father who loves him. But memories from his childhood are lingering and have left bone deep scars. Cade is a simple man with a simple dream: to love and be loved. Events from his past cause Cade to attempt to reject his attraction, and ultimately, love for Ren. I simply fell in love with both of these characters. Ren is handsome and down-to-earth with a sweet spirit that draws people to him like flies to honey. Cade has had hard knocks and a hard life, but hasn’t allowed his past to jade the man he is inside. I could relate to the trust issues brought up in the book, and the stance taken. The subject matter is one that many people will be able to relate to. ReneCade is filled with suspense and scorching sexual play. This was my introduction to Cameron Dane and the characters from this novel, but I plan to go back and read Demon Moon and Falling. Readers will not be able to put this fantastic story down.
