Anything But Mine

When you’ve been raised to believe in honor and duty there’s no choice but to do your job; even if that means defending a serial killer. When doing her job costs her the man she loves Autry Holton had no idea that things would get worse. Now, with her home town against her, someone stalking her and the child of the man she loves growing inside her, she must accept the help of the man that doesn’t want her. The man she hasn’t told about their baby.

When Sheriff Stanton Reed discovers Autry has a stalker he’ll stop at nothing to protect her. Because it’s his job. Discovering she’s carrying his child he’s torn between the fear of not being good enough, he did fail at marriage and fatherhood before, and wanting her and their baby back in his life. But with real danger knocking on her door and the conflict between their jobs can Stanton convince her to give them another try or will her stalker stop any chance of them being together? And will either of them survive a terrorist act that shatters the town they serve?

Anything But Mine is book four of Linda Winfree’s Hearts of the South series.

Having read What Mattered Most I had high hopes for Anything But Mine. I wasn’t disappointed. Ms. Winfree has taken romantic suspense to a whole new level. I’ve always loved the genre but I’m obsessed with Ms. Winfree’s writing. There’s never a dull moment and as she takes you into her world you’re left breathless with so many different emotions it’s hard to say which has the biggest impact. Autry and Stanton take you on a ride you won’t soon forget. With their struggle to make it as a couple we watch them grow to understand each other and learn their own weakness. Nothing is easy for this pair—from Autry’s defending a serial killer to the stalker terrorizing her, their time together is constantly being tested. Even with all that goes on around Autry and Stanton, Anything But Mine is a true love story. Ms. Winfree has packed so much into her book that you’re turning page after page, totally enthralled with the world she’s created. Pulling at every heartstring Anything But Mine is an exceptional read that leaves you with a lasting impression. If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading one of Linda Winfree’s books you need to rectify that. She’s a star of the genre and I won’t even be reading the blurbs anymore; if her name’s on the cover, I’m buying it.
