Liz Blackwell is living a double life as a lawyer in a Triad-run law firm. She uses her contacts there to feed the FBI information that they request so they can minimize the impact the Triad has on Metrocity. When a mysterious stranger saves her life and then begins to show up at all hours, her life becomes crazier and crazier. With an epiphany involving her secretary, Kent, what could’ve been a sticky situation at work becomes dangerous and yet fulfilling as well.

Ninja is a dark stranger in the shadows able to execute amazing feats using the ancient arts implied by his name. He watches Liz from afar, yearning to talk to her, touch her, and taste her. When he’s able to step in and save her, he allows himself to get a bit closer to her with his mask always firmly in place.

When the Earth finds itself under attack from aliens and then finds out that the population has the ability to produce real life superheroes, you have the premise that Racy Li has created in her superhero novel, Ninja. Not only are we granted a peek into the lives of a culture that has survived and flourished under horrible circumstances but the unreal becomes oh so real. Kent and his alter ego are an absolutely amazing couple of characters and oh so yummy to boot. Watching him evolve throughout was a treat. Liz was also a great character and truly strong. While I would’ve liked to see more trust between them initially, it’s also hard to give information that you’ve been hiding forever. I am very excited to have found this new author and was glad to see a novella on her website involving one of the secondary characters. I look forward to seeing what she will do with Kent’s sister in her next book.
