Taylor Daniels and Ryan Matthews grew up spending their summers together at their families’ lake houses. When they were 18 they kissed and it was memorable, but the families pulled them apart. They haven’t seen each other in years and each has changed. Now, once again, they are at the lake at the same time but both harbor secrets that will change their lives. Do they still have feelings for one another now that they are adults or was their infatuation, just that, young love? How can they possibly have a relationship now with all the changes they have been through? And they are right in the middle of a war between two vampire houses that has raged for thousands of years. Will they even survive?

White Lightning by Cyan Bell is a fast- paced vampire story. The author is able to drop you right into the story without confusion. I liked the characters of Taylor and Ryan right away. And although each of them had some bad life experiences since they last saw each other, they are both dealing with them and moving forward. Taylor and Ryan are still very attracted to one another physically but is it just left over from their feelings as teenagers or is it something more? Then the bad guys start showing up and the adventure begins. I like the unusual situation Taylor and Ryan find themselves in and I loved the solution Ms. Bell comes up with. There is a great twist that brings everything together beautifully but is not what the reader is expecting. If you want a fun, entertaining but quick vampire story, you’ll enjoy White Lightning.
