Blood Claim

Blood Claim by Angela Fiddler, Jet Mykles and Laura Baumbach is a homoerotic anthology.

In Winner Takes All by Laura Baumbach, William Pray knows that he has no chance in beating Malcolm Crane, but that isn’t what he truly wants. William hasn’t been a vampire long, but he made sure that his son has been taken care of ever since he was turned. Now all William can hope for is Malcolm’s sense of mercy and his dying wish to protect his son, Hunter. Hunter isn’t your average man, he loves excitement and danger. Will Hunter's love for excitement and William’s last wish find a way to change both Malcolm and Hunter’s future?

Next in Wolfe’s Recluse by Jet Mykles, Matt had a traumatic experience that changed his life when he saw his lover murdered by a vampire. Then he had that vampire follow him home and attempt to get Matt under his control. Ever since, Matt has refused to leave his home and never ever open his door after dark. Luckily, Matt found a job that allowed him to stay home and keep his own hours. The only contact with the outside world is his boss Wolfe, and he wants to meet with Matt for dinner. Wolfe invites Matt to dinner, and when a misunderstanding takes place, the phone call ends badly. After a miss step, they finally meet and find out that they aren’t exactly what the other expected. What is really happening between Wolfe and Matt?

Finally in Gift of the Raven by Angela Fiddler, Luke is an unusual vampire who wants to live the quiet life. He isn’t proud about how wild and uncontrolled he used to be, and now he lives alone after he broke up with his partner and offspring Cory. Cory still visits him to have his needs met, and Luke just can‘t turn him away. They never had a problem in their sex life. What Luke doesn’t know is that another vampire Lathe is after Cory to take control of him and the hidden power that he has access to. Things heat up when Lathe attempts to kidnap Cory, starting a chain of events that endanger all Luke holds dear. Will Luke find a way to protect Cory or will their future lives be torn apart for all time?

Blood Claim is an anthology revolving around the lives of vampires who have completely different lives and personalities. Each story is vastly different with characters that take the stage and hold the reader from the start. I enjoyed how each story was inclusive on its own and still kept with the main theme. The authors created believable characters who take on a life of their own in each of the short stories. I liked how the paranormal aspects of each story added to the mystique of the plotline. I look forward to reading other books by these authors.
