Men of Tokyo: Sudden Bliss

Men of Tokyo: Sudden Bliss by Sedonia Guillone is the second book in the White Tiger series.

Koji Watanabe has always put everything ahead of his desires, family, responsibilities, and work, to his detriment. Finally, his employer recognized the situation and decides to send Koji on an enforced vacation. They compromised and Koji is sent with security to the White Tiger, a first rate gay men’s hotel where all their needs are met- literally. At the White Tiger, Naoto is told by Kiku-sensie, the owner, that he will attend Koji. Years ago, Kiku found Naoto was in a very bad place, and Kiku invited him to come work at the White Tiger, as he did all of his staff. Through meditation and following the White Tiger path, the members of the White Tiger find harmony and peace through sexual acts to uplift their souls. Koji arrives, and Naoto understands how stressed out and on the edge that Koji truly is. As Koji and Naoto begin to spend time together they find that there feelings for one another go beyond friendship, but between Koji’s life and Naoto’s being warned not to become involved with Koji things seem to be stacked against them. Add to this, Koji’s very aggressive and dominant father, and they have what seems like insurmountable obstacles to overcome. Come follow Koji and Naoto as they learn that love can come from the most unexpected places.

Ms. Guillone has created the beginning to a very creative series based on characters from her earlier books His Beautiful Samurai and Beautiful Samurai, White Tiger. I am fascinated how the White Tiger hotel began and how Kiku-sensie found all of his assistants. Naoto is a fascinating character who, in spite of his past difficulties, is willing to open himself to the possibility of love again. Koji needs to learn that there is more to life than work and Naoto may be the person to teach him. Together they create a love that may, with both of their work, overcome life’s difficulties if they believe in each other. I would love to read Kiku’s story about his previous life and how the White Tiger hotel began. I will be waiting for the next book in the White Tiger Series.
