Born of the Shadows is a captivating story about love and forgiveness. I was immediately drawn into the world that Cyndi Friberg has created. Angels are real but they are not all that we think. Gideon is a rebel angel; he is not sure of what his path should be. In his heart he is not evil, but it takes a mortal woman for him to realize that. Gideon is an interesting person, and I enjoyed reading about him. He is angry and intense, he drinks blood, and he plans to seduce Naomi to hurt his brother. Naomi knows of his intentions but she doesn’t let that stop her. She is a strong woman who didn’t back down from anyone. I loved the interactions between the two of them; Naomi was the light to Gideon’s darkness. The secondary characters were also a treat to read about. The good guys and even the evil guys left me wanting to know more. The lines between bad and good are not so black and white in this story, and I can’t wait until the next one.
