Mr. Darcy’s Diary

Mr. Darcy’s Diary is the tale of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, told from the perspective of Fitzwilliam Darcy himself.

Intimately presented in the format of a diary, the reader is able to glimpse into the mind of Mr. Darcy, his moods and his beliefs. Within those hallowed pages, all is revealed as he tells of how he met Miss Elizabeth Bennet, his feelings for her relations and station in life and the struggles he faced while attempting to avoid falling in love with her. As Ms. Austen’s original classic is told from Elizabeth Bennet’s point of view, the reader is unable to ascertain why the formal and aloof Darcy behaved or responded the ways that he did. Removing the proverbial blinders from our eyes, Mr. Darcy’s Diary removes all doubt, allowing the reader to fall in love with him all over again.

Sure to please even the purest of Jane Austen fans, Amanda Grange successfully captures the voice and intelligence of Austen’sengaging style. So much so that one feels as though they are reading a long lost manuscript of the classic author herself. Mr. Darcy’s Diary is an absolute must read for those who have enjoyed Pride and Prejudice. For those who have not, this novel is sure to make the reader a fan of both Austen and Grange.
