Tapestry

Deirdre Tyler can’t seem to buy herself good luck these days. First she’s laid off from her job, or rather; she was part of a Reduction in Force. Then she arrives home to find her boyfriend in bed with another woman. Taking a late night walk to clear her senses, she’s spooked by a vision of black fog. Deirdre flees and runs smack into a mysterious stranger named Quince who takes her home. They share a passionate moment and as he’s leaving, he demands to know where he can find the tapestry. Bewildered, Deirdre falls asleep on the sofa…and wakes to another stranger in her home.

Hypnotized by this second, intense stranger, she is ravished then wakes later uncertain of what happened, but remembers that he also asked her of the tapestry. Several other similar instances follow, with her memory spotty at best. At her new job with best friend and antique dealer Maurine, she learns that a tapestry was indeed sold and delivered to a residence a distance from town.

Quince is still in her life and is very aware of the other stranger she encountered. In fact, he tells her that his name is Broderick and he’s a century-old vampire. Quince has a deep hatred for this one particular undead creature but try as she might, Deirdre can’t seem to fight the mesmerizing effect Broderick has over her.

On one weekend trip, Deirdre and Quince meet the new owner of the tapestry, and encounter Broderick again in the process. Who is the lover and who is the enemy? When confronted with strong, virile Quince and enigmatic, dominant Broderick, how will Deirdre be able to choose?

Aurora Jamison has written a dark, erotic tale of the love triangle between a young woman and two male lovers, one human and one vampire. Deirdre is a likeable character and the reader feels for her string of bad luck with the loss of a good job and the disloyal boyfriend. The vampire Broderick is not the sensual, sexy vampire of many paranormal romances. Instead this undead male is dark, intense and uses hypnotism to weave his way into his victim/lovers’ lives.

The other main male character of the story, Quince, is sexy but almost distant. His sole goal is to find the tapestry before Broderick, hoping that it will draw Broderick out, so that Quince can kill this vampire once and for all.

The sexual scenes throughout this story are sizzling, leaving little to the imagination. For those readers looking for a erotic paranormal with a unique premise, Tapestry may be just the entertaining diversion you seek.

This story contains a vampire, male/male sexual situations and M/F/M sex.
