Elizabeth (Lizzy) Cross and Ty Black grew up together and both came from unhappy homes. When they were young, Ty took Lizzy and fled to another state. Unbeknownst to Lizzy, Ty had been arrested and placed into juvenile detention. Thinking he had deserted her, she tried to move on with her life. At a point where she is finally making it on her own, Ty shows up at her club…as a stripper. Not only is she shocked, she realizes that she has never gotten over him. Ty is both stunned and ecstatic to see Lizzy because he had been searching for her over the years. Hoping to convince Lizzy that they are meant to be together, he asks her to give him another chance beginning with becoming friends again. Throughout their journey, they rediscover themselves, their feelings for each, and decide they have to lay the past to rest by returning home. Can Ty rekindle the love they once had, and can Lizzy let go of the past and learn to trust Ty again?

Hard to Get follows the relationship between Lizzy and Ty. It takes us through their past, their present and gives us a glimmer into a possible future together. This story was well written as it took us to the past and forward again without confusion. Ty was sexy and patient, but persistent in his pursuit of Lizzy knowing she had to discover her true self. Lizzy found herself wavering between taking what she wanted and waiting for what she needed. How could she resist when she sees her ex-boyfriend shaking his hot body and then offering it to her? I know I wouldn’t. Alyssa Brooks takes us on a journey of life, love, rediscovery and finding your dreams, and then adds sex hot enough to curl your toes.
