Take It Off

All her adult life Samantha Ryan had refused to work in the family’s business; yet, when her ill mother called asking her to run things while she recovered, Samantha reluctantly returned home to manage her mother’s pride and joy – a brothel.

The night before Samantha was to leave, she spent a wild night of passion in the arms of a handsome stranger by the name of Chase Hanson, whom she meet in a bar while out enjoying her last free evening with her girlfriends. The next morning she and Chase parted with Samantha vowing to call him once she returned to town after assisting her mother with a family matter. But, before Samantha could make good on her promise, Chase showed up at the brothel with his best friend’s bachelor party.

Talk about a huge case of misunderstanding! In Take It Off because both Samantha and Chase end up at the same brothel the day after their grand night of passion, it was easy to see the point of each individual character and to identify with their reactions to the situation. Anger exploded between the two. Chase was enraged at himself for considering forming a meaningful relationship with a woman who was no more than a high-class prostitute. And, Samantha was deeply hurt and displeased that Chase was spending the weekend at a brothel and more importantly, that he would actually believe that she was one of the work girls. Yet, through all that anger the burning passion still remained strong between them. So much so, that they couldn’t keep their hands off each other. Take It Off was certainly one hot, yummy book! This was my first time experiencing Tina Gerow’s writing, and I definitely look forward to reading more of her exciting storytelling.
