Laying a Ghost: Waking the Dead

John and Nick have been enjoying their quiet life on the little Scottish Island of Traighshee and are nervous and excited that Nicks half-brother, Josh, is coming for a visit. Both men are worried that Josh will find their quaint life boring, after all what teenager would enjoy an extended stay on an island so small you can walk anywhere? But, when you have a habit of dealing with ghosts and your baby brother can read minds, nothing is ever simple and easy.

Waking the Dead is the third book in the wonderful Laying a Ghost series by Jane Davitt & Alexa Snow. I have devoured these books one after the other and could hardly wait to read each one. Waking the Dead picks up about eight years after the events in Giving up the Ghost. Things have settled down quite nicely for Nick and John and their love is still burning high and hot. The sensual scenes between the two shows the depth of their feelings and highlights just how deeply their love runs, I only wish that all relationships could be as strong as theirs. I really enjoyed Josh as a character. In the previous book we didn’t really learn much about him and seeing how much he had grown in both talent and personality was fun. I’m very thankful that I don’t have powers such as these two men are cursed with, while it was enjoyable to read about the events that occurred I personally would have no desire to live them. Waking the Dead is a flight of fantasy that allowed my mind to soar to new heights, living vicariously through the characters. Waking the Dead is a solid 5 Angel for me!
