Nature of Desire: Rough Canvas

Thomas has left a promising career in the art world to return home to take care of his mother, crippled brother, and sister after the death of his father. He has also left behind his Master. The one man that can make his submissive soul soar, Marcus, and his Master is none too happy about it. But, Marcus must make Thomas see that denying his true nature is wrong and that they belong together. Can a week in the Berkshires change Thomas’ mind or will Marcus be forced to go it alone?

BDSM stories are often either a hit or a miss with me. I like certain aspects of the BDSM lifestyle but others leave me cold. With Rough Canvas Joey W. Hill has hit just the right note. The Master/servant relationship is about control and while on the surface the Master appears to be the dominating force it is but a façade. In reality the servant holds the reins of control in a true M/s relationship. Rough Canvas is the sixth book in the Nature of Desireseries but it can stand alone. It would be a shame to miss the others as they are also well written and there is a bit of crossover with characters. Both Thomas and Marcus are fascinating characters, Thomas for his seeming innocence and strong sense of familial duty, Marcus due to his polished veneer that hides so many secrets and his masterful ways. The sexual scenes were emotionally wrenching and stripped away all the shields and walls that people hide their true feelings behind. Highly erotic and yet soul searchingly deep, the sensual scenes made this novel a 5 Angel Recommend Read for me!
