Torrid Tarot: Triple Booked

Lovers and coauthors, Gabe and Jade have it all…well almost everything. The only thing missing is the money that would come from them being a success as writers. Then Alex meets them at a party and has a proposal that Jade urges Gabe to accept. After all, Jade drew the Three of Pentacles in a Tarot reading and she is sure that this is meant to be. But will Alex’s real reason for wanting this and Gabe’s reluctance to share stop things before they even get started?

Mardi Ballou’s signature style shines through in Triple Booked. Humorous and serious by turns the plot moves right along. I’m not a huge fan of ménage a trios for the most part, I tend to worry that someone is going to get hurt, but Mardi Ballou has arranged this one with enough sensitivity and tact that I fell right into it with no problem. I liked that Gabe wasn’t completely up for the proposition when it was first introduced into the picture, and I was a bit upset with Jade’s seeming eagerness to bring Alex into the well established relationship. I did enjoy Jade’s “voice of reason” when the two men butted heads and I was also jealous of her position. Seriously, two hot men with me in the middle, yummy.
