Turbulent Sea
Ilya Prakenskii and Joley Drake have been playing a dangerous game of cat and mouse. Since Hannah Drake was captured, Joley and Ilya have danced around their attraction. Ilya is sure that Joley is his, but you cannot tell Joley that. Fighting each other at each turn when accidents start happening around Joley, Ilya takes it upon himself to guard her, and their dance becomes much more intense. With him understanding her and her powers, Joley finds her walls fracturing and can only try to keep him from becoming more than just a guard.
The sixth in the Drake Sisters series, Turbulent Sea brings back all of our favorite characters and fleshes out my two personal favorites. Both Ilya and Joley have their own quirks and issues, but that makes them so very real. Ilya has the uber Alpha male thing going on, but he tries to understand Joley’s standoffishness. Joley just cannot bring herself to trust him. How could a man ever understand her and her sisters? Ilya’s shady background would’ve been a bit of fun to delve into more deeply, but Christine Feehan gave you just enough to understand him and his choices without stripping all of his mystery. As a huge fan of the Drake Sisters, I’m sad to see there’s only one more sister left to pair off, but at the same time I cannot wait to read it!
