Wild Card
When a rescue mission in Columbia went wrong, Nathan Malone was captured and tortured. When he was finally rescued, Nathan was in bad shape and didn’t think that his wife Bella could handle seeing him that way. In all truth every part of him that had been Nathan had died; so he let his wife believe that he had died on that mission.
Now, three years later, Nathan has reinvented himself as Noah Blake, a cold-eyed killer who works hard not to remember the time he spent with his wife and the love that they shared. That all changes when he learns that Bella is in danger from the Black Collar Militia, a terrorist group already responsible for the death of three FBI agents, and that he will be working undercover with his wife who cannot know he’s alive.
Bella has mourned her husband’s death for three years until it almost ruined their auto-repair business and is finally starting to get her life back together. She is dating a little bit and content working at the garage getting her hands dirty which she would have never done while Nathan was alive since he liked for her to need him and liked when she had her hair and nails done. But now Noah Blake has walked into her life acting like he owns her by telling her what to do. Just like her husband use to do, and Bella won’t have another man like that in her life and will fight the attraction she feels for him.
Wild Card by Lora Leigh is an amazing tale of love, loss and redemption. I loved reading Nathan and Bella’s story even though at times their loss and desperation broke my heart! Ms. Leigh is a talented writer who has the ability to rip your heart and soul out with her writing before building them back up and to me, that’s what makes her writing so powerful. And that her books have enough heat to melt the polar icecaps, with her sexy hero’s and sensuous love senses, well that doesn’t hurt either.
If you’ve read any of Ms. Leigh’s fabulous Seal series then you won’t want to miss Nathan’ story in Wild Card which is the first book of the exciting new Elite Ops series.
