Prince of Love

Prince of Love by Donna Grant is the third book in The Royal Chronicles series.

It is 1270 in Ivergarry Scotland, Sorin Sinclair is a prince from the magical kingdom of Drahcir. His family is under a curse from a Fae princess that says he and his brothers have to leave the kingdom, find their mates and return within a year's time or their kingdom will vanish. To make matters even more difficult a Fae princess has sent a beast known as a Tnarg to find and kill their mates before they can get them safely to Drahcir. Sorin learns about the Tnarg from his brother Keiran when they meet by accident. After they go their separate ways, Sorin hears the most enchanting laugh and he knows that his search is at an end. Sorin sees his mate, Katrina, and it is all he can do not to immediately claim her for his own. Now the difficult part comes... to make her believe the threat and give up everything to return with him. Katrina is captivated by Sorin’s smile and invites him to dinner. Will Sorin find a way to convince Katrina of the danger and save his people or will time run out on their love?

Ms. Grant has captured her audience with this fascinating story about mythical beings locked in an age old curse. I found Sorin to be a captivating character who will do anything to protect the ones he loves, even at the price of his own life. Katrina is much more than the product of her time and she has surprising depths that might just surprise Sorin. It was wonderful to watch the love spring up between Sorin and Katrina as they work together to attain the goal of saving the people of Drahcir. It was horrifying to see how Sorin’s family was made to watch as Sorin and Katrina fought for their lives at the very gates of Drahcir. I, for one, can’t wait to read the next story about Sorin’s brother Keiran and his struggle to find and save his mate. Thanks go to Ms. Grant for a great read.
