When Heydn Case has to transfer schools he finds it difficult like always. Meeting new people is nothing new or easy for him. Meeting his new roommate, Brooke Barclay, better known as Blue to everyone that wants to live, is an interesting experience in more than one way. After a rocky start Heydn and Blue hit it off. For Blue this means he falls in love with his new roommate. For Heydn this means a no-strings-attached good time. Life at Acton-Pierce Academy sucks them both in and they find themselves at odds with one another. Can Heydn and Blue find each other through the prejudice and challenges life at Acton-Pierce has to bring?

Connie Bailey sucks you in from the opening line in True Blue Both Blue and Heydn are sensational characters cast in a very believable setting. Blue’s sense of right and wrong made him come alive on the pages. He seemed very in tuned to the kind of person he was and the kind of person he wanted to become. In contrast, Heydn was the exact opposite and very relatable because if it. The twists and turns that the plot brings kept me up late into the night. So many times an author will take a heavy hand when incorporating discrimination into a storyline but Ms. Bailey incorporates meaning into the plot effortlessly. I fully recommend True Blue!
