Dogs and Goddesses
Abby Richmond and her Newfoundland, Bowser, have just moved into town. Abby has inherited her grandmother’s old coffee shop and bakery. Right away, she is accosted by
Professor Christopher MacKenzie, who is demanding that Abby bake up six dozen cookies. Abby does so in the form of magical cookies.
Then there is Daisy Harris and her hyperactive Jack Russell terrier, Bailey. Things are so chaotic in Daisy’s life, hopefully handsome dog trainer, Noah, can help put everything back in order with his hands on approach.
And lastly, there is Professor Shar Summer and her Dachshund, Wolfie. Shar is obsessed with learning all she can about Mesopotamia and all the gods that originated from there. Shar received more than she bargained for when she found a god in her kitchen. Now Shar can’t keep her eyes and hands off Sam-la-el, also known as Sam.
Sam isn’t the only god that Abby, Daisy and Shar will have to contend with. Kammani Gula, a goddess, has taken residence in their town. Kammani is seeking to rise again and wants Abby, Daisy and Shar’s help.
I have read Jennifer Crusie, Anne Stuart and Lani Diane Rich books separately, but never together. These author giants collaborate to bring readers a fun, magical, romantic comedy titled Dogs and Goddesses. These women did such an outstanding job with this story that I couldn’t tell who wrote which parts as it was like they had been writing together for years. Every time I would turn the page, I was laughing at either some comment someone or one of the dogs made as well as the antics of Sam. I don’t have to admit that the dogs were my favorite in the story. I sometimes wish I could hear what my dogs wanted to say but on the other hand I might regret it. I would recommend this book to anyone who is a dog lover as well as those who are not. I would have liked to give this book the five paw rating, but since I made that rating up, instead I bestow Dogs and Goddesses with a five angel stamp of approval.
