Virginia is a woman adamant about holding her own ground and showing she doesn’t need a man to protect her. She wants to remain independent, and self sufficient, she is very confident and a woman in her own right. She shows all this by running her own ranch, the only problem is there are male wolves out there who want to bring her to heel and show her where her woman’s place is. She is so not going for it! She has to turn to the alpha of the pack for help although very reluctant to do so she’s not stupid and know she must do something before things get out of hand. Now only if she can keep her hands off the very sexy wolf who wants her and whom she wants very much in return. She is not ready to be any man’s mate, but she may not have a choice, because where her body leads, she know her heart is sure to follow.

Jack has wanted and waited for the one woman he knows has the strength of heart to stand by his side and run his pack, the only problem is making her realize that she is the one. When she shows up at his office wanting the harassment of her ranch and home to stop, he knows this is his chance to show her a few things she already knew about him and a few she didn’t. This is also his time to lay it all on the line and show her how very much he not only needs her by his side but in his bed and his heart. But there are challenges within and out. Jack must somehow hold on to her before her insecurities drive her away.

This novel is filled with firecracker passion and hot to the touch! I had not one problem reading it not once but twice. The tension is delicious and made me shiver in my seat. The two main characters connected and everything they feel is very real. They set off sparks worse than an electric live wire. The secondary characters only added to the story and took nothing away from it. Jack let Virginia be the woman that she is and asked for nothing more than she love him and lead the pack. He saw the leadership abilities, strength, and compassion and knew she was what he wanted and needed. Virginia found that she had more strength than she thought she had, and when called for took the roll of authority with no hesitation. I can’t believe the author managed to pack so much in to this short story. I mean its all there, a believable plot, a cowardly villain, blinding passion, and a deep and abiding love. So much so that you’ll want to find your own Jack and transform into Virginia! I’m desperately waiting for the other books in this series, I have officially turned into a Moira stalker. And to think this was my very first read by her. This was way more then just a review for me. Congratulations Ms. Rogers!
