She is soon swept into a life of fearing for your life if a party of Indians finds one alone. After meeting Tom Roberts, Maggie can’t help but fall in love with him, but with the dangers of the land, Tom’s constant need to go on long journeys to hunt and a Viscount who wants Maggie do they ever have a chance at love?
Author Christine Blevins is truly a master with her story telling abilities. While reading about Maggie and her journey the reader cannot help but hope for her to have a happily ever after, all the secondary characters in the story each had their own reason for being in Maggie’s life, and the author did a wonderful job tying up all the loose ends by the end of the story. In Midwife of the Blue Ridge there was the perfect mix of danger, loss, and hope for a brighter future. Maggie is truly a heroine who did what she had to do in a time of uncertainty and grew from a scared young lass to a fine honorable woman. Watching her growth was one journey well worth going on. Fans of Early American Historicals will not want to pass this book up!
