Oh Goddess

Rachel is falling in love and doesn’t want to so she summons Ondina, a goddess, with an incantation that she has found on the internet. When Jack, her older brother, arrives for a visit he comes in to discover Rachel surrounded by candles with a hazy woman standing over her getting ready to pour some kind of liquid into her mouth. Jack instantly grabs the bottle and throws it against the wall, smashing it and dumping the contents. What he doesn’t realize is that the bottle is Ondina’s chalice. After smashing it, she becomes human and is stuck in the mortal realm until one of the three of them can figure out how to get her back.

Oh Goddess is definitely one of my top five novellas for this year! Ms. Hayes has written an incredibly funny and entertaining novella that will keep you up until the wee hours of the morning to finish, so be sure to start it earlier than I did! Ondina cracks me up all the way through from page one to the ending. She’s never experienced mortality and the smallest things amaze her including normal hunger pangs. The budding romance between the goddess and Jack will grab your heartstrings. Ondina’s duty is to help mortals to keep from falling in love for various reasons, and she’s going against her own beliefs and responsibilities. I would recommend Oh Goddess to all of my friends and family. If you’re looking for a hilarious and fun read with magic and love, then grab this fast; I promise you won’t be disappointed!
