Peyton Hamilton accompanies her sister, Frieda, for a season at Wellbourne Manor, where all the best society matches are made. She is sent to be a chaperone to her older, more mature sister. Frieda has secretly hatched a plan to marry off Peyton so she doesn't have to marry one of their uncle's old friends.

Upon her arrival to Wellbourne Manor, Peyton's curiosity quickly lands her in trouble. She encounters Aunt Elizabeth's dashing nephew, Rupert, while she is out exploring where she shouldn't be. Rupert views the goings-on at Wellbourne Manor as little more then a slave auction and he wants no part of the match-making. After running into Peyton, he finds himself thoroughly intrigued. An incident on the grounds of Wellbourne Manor put them into close proximity and the sparks fly.

Rupert begins using every opportunity to get to Peyton, teasing her unmercifully. Everything is upset when another man arrives, a true cad, who sets his sights on Peyton. Peyton instantly takes a dislike to the man, avoiding him at all cost, but Rupert still feels he must protect her. As events unfold, Peyton finds herself falling for Rupert. Will he return her feelings?


Laura E. Reagan is an extremely talented author. I can truly say The Unsuitable Suitor was one of the best stories I have read this year. I absolutely loved the characters and the plot was sensational. Peyton was quirky and fun. Rupert was so bold and daring. The chemistry between Rupert and Peyton was amazingly hot. What I wouldn't do to have a man that gorgeous chasing after me! This was a really believable story and I loved the humorous parts throughout. I was hanging on every word until the end. This was a true romance novel!
