Dragon Queen Book Two: Dragon Dance
Dragon Dance picks up a year after the end of Mating Call with Cora Phillips trying to hide away from the two dragons and their guardians, but her nightmares have returned and Greg has some kind of hypnotic power over her that she wants stopped. Then Salim’s dragon appears and says that Salim and the dragons need her. Cora agrees to go to Salim for help but what she finds is that Salim is suffering too. Will Cora ever be all right again or will the rest of her life be spent battling against the dragons and guardians for her soul?
In this second book of the Dragon Queen series, Cora is just as confused and unsure of what to do as she was in the first book, but she is finally coming to the realization that this is real and that she must deal with it. I’m not wild about Cora and her decisions in this story; everything seems to be a reaction to the manipulation by the men and dragons. I’m ready for Cora to step up and take control of her own life and destiny. Salim seems to be the good guy in this book but we are never shown his motivations or really know very much about him, so I’m not sold on his character just yet. Although I would hope Cora wouldn’t have fantastic sex and feelings for a truly evil man! Greg appears to be completely the bad guy but he does raise some significant doubts in Cora’s mind about the nature of Salim and what if Greg is being misrepresented because we are missing some small detail? We do not learn in this book which man is really looking out for Cora’s best interest, hopefully we will find the truth and resolution in the third book. This is one series that the reader needs to read all three books in order to get the full story ,but if you liked the first one; you will want to continue with the second book. I can’t wait to see how Ms. Ryan-Davis finally resolves this story and who Cora ends up with.
